BalasHapusThe first, I want to start with simple question. “ How do We bring our student in the classroom?” and “What are They skill develop?“. Those questions are most common asked by the teachers. The teachers have to find out the way to attract their students and let them to explore their skill and creativity. But actualy the case is every students has different favourite. So, how we solve it ? Jeff Khun has answered the question, by using podcasting for the classroom. It will be more acceptable for students. By using podcasting, students can improve their skills not only n the classroom but also outside. I think a podcast can be a lecture, presentation, announcement or any kind of supplemental material fasilitations the educational goals ot the teacher and students. The opportunity of using podcast is to provide information in a variety of ways to better meet diverse learning styles. As an english teacher, We can use or make school radio as additional media in teaching and learning process. The topic of each broadcast is different. It contains art, healt, music, news, science, and technology, by using school radio, spoken material of existing written content can allow them to listen the material while reading. Improvement in reading comprehension and verbal skill are gained trough a tool that is cool to have. In the classroom, this ia valuable for repeated use of material from day to day or semester to semester. And it allows you to match the timming of the presentation to the content of our curriculum.

Pod casting your classroom, it sounds not familiar to our ear but it is exactly often used by English teacher in their classroom. One that is very well-known for teacher is audacity. using audacity,Teacher can make his own material like music, short movie or even downloading from YouTube as sources of material. Why should use Pod cast? Podcast provide students enough speaking and listening time. Students also able to discover, create and discuss through it because it is downloadable radio broadcasting that focus on specific audiences. Its size is also small because it is encoded in mp3. The topics being discussed are also complete so that students have many ideas to build up their communication; moreover, the main goal of Podcast is not to speak but able to communicate. Podcast also encourage terrify computer students to know, learn and master new computer application. Podcast spoken material can also allow students listening the material while they are reading the material given. They can also involve in new experience by studying outside of the classroom.

I think podcasting is a good media for teaching and learning. It can be a media beside the teacher explain the materials. So, it makes the students feel different in teaching-learning process. The students can practice to speak as a broadcaster and presenter. Before publish the the podcast, they can refise or rerecord if they have some mistakes. This is the advantage than the other media. The other advantages in podcasting are; podcast cut costs, convenient and easy to consume, effisien in time and can do in every computer. So, After watch the webinar I want to practice podcasting for my students in the class. I hope my students feel more enjoy in learning English.

The second session of The American English Webinar was inspired for most of us. Podcasting is the famous technique in the field of English language teaching even if we use it and we do not know exactly the name of what so-called " podcasting ". students begin cooperating and interesting in the classroom with music , sports , films , radio and learning activities. By using podcasting , teachers also are able to mix the topics with music , sports or films in order to gain knowledge and entertaining in the classroom. The simple ways to get podcasting by using different tools either MP3 encoded or Itunes from apple serves . Teachers also may ask students to conduct podcasting in their field of interesting which is really amazing to create orientation between student and technology while they getting podcasting from (websites, radio , youtube or American Broadcasting news) . Mr. Jeff Kuhn also argued that the use of Audacity which we have to give attention , is really important for most of teachers but we should control how to use its function in the proper way. All of that help teachers and students to entertain in the classroom and improve the students' ability to pronounce well and speak fluently .It is really interesting to use new effective techniques in the process of teaching during classroom .

It gives some benefit both for the the students and the teacher.For the teacher,it can be as media for teaching and learning process that is freely for download. So,the students will feel enjoy lesson by the interesting media. The students can develop their skills such as in listening and writing through watch the podcast. They also develop their speaking skill bycreating their own podcast. It is convenient and easy to consume. It also has an efficient time. BalasHapusI am glad to watch the video because it gives me a new medium to teach that is by using rodcasting. Many adventages we can get by applying podcasting in our classroom. By giving a new experience to our students, we can share the new experience with our students.
Not to forget, after applying this podcasting, we have to ask students whether they like it or not, because the students' preference is different from one to another. By knowing their comment, we can be sure "podcasting" is suitable or not in our class.

BalasHapusPodcasting is an interesting strategy in teaching EFL to my classroom. I think my students will be more creative in learning process although they are not in the class. This is also useful strategy for me as English teacher to teach the students of mine. I do not need give the materials in the classroom only, but also I can upload the materials and my students can download them. They can learn the materials before they come to the class.

It will be fun I think because students can bring what they love to the classroom, example : sport, movie, music even game. By using podcasting , teachers also are able to mix the topics with music , sports or movie to get knowledge and entertaining in the classroom. It providing students enough speaking and listening skills and time can be challenging in class. Remember the goal of Podcasting should not be to speak but to communicate. BalasHapusI found that In education, podcasting opens many doors for students and teachers. Podcasting/Vodcasting allows educators to reach students using a medium they are accustomed to. Student today are digital natives. Even very young students have spent time online reading email, playing games, looking up information, or communicating with friends. It can be used to interact with students and parents beyond the four walls of a classroom and can be a great facilitator to increase student engagement. Podcasts/vodcasts also give students the opportunity to enhance their organization, communication and technology skills. It will also benefit students by giving them the opportunity to listen and or watch classroom content multiple times.But, I'am afraid...however Podcasting is an inexpensive way to create digital content for my classroom.

This is the second session of the American English Webinar entitled "Podcasting in the Classroom" presented by Jeff Kuhn. I think podcasting is an interesting technique in teaching ELT in the classroom because it is very useful media in teaching and learning process. Teachers can design their own level of materials like transcripts and visual images can also be provided in podcasts. So, the students can download all the materials. Video podcasts can help expand topics that require image display. Podcasting can work as an accessible platform for students to expose themselves to the language. The students realized that their listening skills and speaking skills were enhanced and agreed that podcasting was a useful tool for language learning. By using podcasting, students can improve their listening and speaking skills in the classroom, house, and everywhere (inside and outside the clssroom). After watching this, I will try to practice podcasting for all my students in the classroom because It can save time in teaching and learning process. I'm looking forward for the next series. Hello, my name is Rury Restu Afifah 2201413149, email Rury.afifah@yahoo.com. I have seen Webinar Series 2 entitled “Podcasting for The Classroom” by Jeff Khun, and I think his presentation is great. He introduce us about podcast, the definition, the superiority of the podcast such as its vary genre and its practical use, and how the teacher give assessment in using this learning media. Jeff also mentions some of the exact web for us to visit in order to downloading the podcast. Dealing with learning activity, Jeff using students’ interest in his learning process through podcasting, because by doing podcast the students have learned about 21st century skills, such as research information, how to write scripts, how to record, how to edit, and how to be conversational. Student and teacher’s communication is build here because in this class teacher and students cooperate each other while doing podcast. The class is going to be a fun class, there will be no such nervous student in the class because they will feel relax and enjoy the class. I think this video is very useful for us as a teacher to be, that is all. Thank you.

The second series was delivered bh Jeff Kuhn, a PhD candidate at Ohio University who works as a consultant on the U.S. Department of State's Trace Effect. In webinar entitled "Podcasting for the Classroom", he told us that students loved music,sports and movies. He proposed podcasting,how to make podcast and how to use it. According to him, podcast that stands for pod and broadcast are downloadable "radio broadcast" that cater to specific audiences or specific topics. It is small, 20-50 mb, which tells range of topics. Furthermore, as a media, a genre study, in teaching,podcast can strengthen pupil's ability both in listening and speaking skills. In my opinion this method is very suitable for students in high school. Because the using of interesting thing such as song or movie in learning process will catch more students' attention. The second session of American English Webinar entitled : Podcasting in the Classroom by Jeff Kuhn also provide teaching alternative and this time, using podcast. Both method, be it social media and Podcast relies heavily on Internet, and again might become technical difficulties to do that. And while it sounds interesting to use podcast in the classroom, it also pose additional burden to both teacher and students to effectively utilizing podcast as teaching method. Overall, it was an excellent webinar, and might be an interesting for soon-to-be English teacher to try.
