The Webinar 5.1 is about Fun with Grammar-Bringing Language Learning to Life through Games. I think that the focus of grammar instruction should be indirect teaching. By using games, it meants teaching grammar inderectly. Grammar games will engange and help students in learning grammar. Moreover, by using games students feel excited and enjoy in learning grammar.

HapusIt is a great idea to explore how to teach grammar in fun ways through games. The activities of teaching and learning grammar that are sometimes supposed to be boring can be more attractive and interactive through games. The teachers should be creative to use varied methods to reinforce what has already been taught. The students can enjoy and have fun in learning grammar. Teaching and learning grammar can be implemented for children and adult students. Games can improve their motivation in term of competition and stress reduction. The examples of games in the video can be our references to choose or create the appropriate games for our students because we, as the teachers, know the shortcomings and the interests of our students. The important things that must be considered are the characteristics (not only the age, but also personality) and the average skill level of our students. The rubric presented in the video is practical for evaluation including accuracy of context, rules, cooperative wok, and creativity. BalasHapusFun with grammar is a good idea. As we know that grammar is one of skill that is considered difficult by the students. Teachers must provide a craetive strategy for teaching. By using games, students will feel happy and enjoy the teaching learning process of grammar without feel any confuse. Besides, they can improve their cooperative work and responsibility.

BalasHapusThis webinar topic is about how to teach grammar using fun games and the advantages of it. In teaching and learning process, especially teaching grammar, the teacher should be able to engage the students. As we can see in the chat box, many teachers thought that grammar is boring and deals with structure and rules. However, bringing games in teaching grammar allows the teachers and students to be creative. The teacher should be able to find appropriate games and how to make the instructions well. Moreover, games allow the students to have more talk time. The presenters introduced some fun activities in teaching grammar. Sometimes, some students may show their uninterested in learning grammar by complaining or keep saying that they are bored or even sleeping. Overcoming this condition is challenge for the teachers to how they create the enjoyable and fun learning of grammar. The seminar shows the idea of how learning grammar through some games is like an open door for this challenge. Presenting grammar through games is the great idea and solution for both teachers and students. Games give some benefits for the teachers in delivering grammar. It may ease them to explain about grammar and create the situation in the real context. Beside those things, teacher can give some various kinds of teaching in delivering grammar. Thus, the students will be more interested in getting involved in the classroom. Furthermore, students will also have some benefits from this concept. They may get the interesting teaching and learning. They also will be more active and have same chances to communicate in the classroom. There would be no more silent students in the back because they are encouraged to be active. Games will help them to dig information and motivation to learn Grammar. My students just keep saying that it is difficult to learn grammar and there are so many rules and tasks they should memorize and do. Bringing language learning to life through games is such an inspiring topic. Teacher can use more creative way to boost the students' motivation in learning grammar. By using the technique, students also can practice the grammar rules they have learned implicitly without being under pressure. I have learned so much from this webinar. BalasHapusAs a novice teacher, learning and trying new method of teaching is a must to make the students engage in the teaching learning process. In my experience teaching grammar is the most challenging since the students usually get easily bored, and by watching this video I find a new way to teach grammar to my students. BalasHapusToday's curriculum doesn't give enough room for the teacher to teach grammar. However grammar is actually needed to make the students capable to produce correct sentences and utterances. Fortunately, fun games can be applied as the opening, ice breaker, review, or even to test the students. This webinar session give more alternative in using fun games to teach grammar in the classroom.
BalasHapusA lot of students think that grammar is the main enemy of English, for it likes an assessment of our English whether it is wrong or right. Too many rules that make the students upset and don’t want to learn anymore. Nowadays, a lot of English teachers have been created a lot of games to make their English teaching and learning process more fun. Nevertheless, not all students can enjoy it well. Some students are refuse and don’t want to study anymore, they said like “I’m done! I hate English. I should use complicated pattern of grammar just only to say a simple sentence in English. So, I don’t want to study it anymore. Besides, Bahasa is my main language.” That mind-set influence them for a long time. Therefore, that video is helpful to the teachers who have limit sources to create fun games and attract the students more. BalasHapusWhen asking to the students about the most difficult material to be mastered, their answer is Grammar. Since a long period of time, teachers have been searching for the interesting methods to delivered the material, one of them is Games, but it is not the simple thing to determine the appropriate games to be adapted in the classroom activity. But now, through this program, "Webinar 5.1 Fun with Grammar" can be the solution in teaching grammar. Therefore, the students are supposed to be able to encourage their personal involvement, to be motivated in learning, to increase their talk time, to decrease their effective filter. Moreover, the game also provides fun atmosphere in practicing the language, involving everyone in class, and allowing the teachers to informally assess students. BalasHapusDealing with grammar seems to be problematic. On the one hand it is one of the important language aspects. On the other hand it requires more efforts to both learn grammar and apply the knowledge in practices. Considering the way it is used, the materials provided in Webinar 5.1 might be an effective means to teach grammar, particularly for elementary-level students. Providing materials in the form of game will attract the learners to get involved in teaching and learning process. However, it is also important to include direct teaching in some cases. But after watching this video, I knew that there is a method, like games, that can be applied in teaching grammar. I think it is really effective to gain our students' interest in learning.
